About the Facility
Nestled within the beautiful Rancho Bernardo Community Park, the San Diego Ace Tennis Academy provides an exceptional environment for tennis lovers. Our clinics and private group classes take place on six newly resurfaced tennis courts, all surrounded by the lush greenery of this expansive park.
The park offers more than just tennis; it boasts a fully-equipped recreation center, two outdoor basketball courts, eight ballfields, and a spacious two-acre dog park located at its southern end. The tennis courts are illuminated, allowing for play even after sunset.

Recreation Center: Features an indoor gymnasium and rentable rooms.
Basketball Courts: Two outdoor courts for basketball enthusiasts.
Ballfields: Eight expansive fields available for various sports.
Dog Park: A large, two-acre area for dogs to roam freely.

Spanning over 40 acres, the park also includes play areas for all ages, a large outdoor gazebo, and a newly renovated turf field open to the community, all contributing to a vibrant atmosphere. Rancho Bernardo is known for its beautiful, master-planned suburban setting, excellent schools, and a wide range of recreational options, including golf courses and parks. With access to hiking trails and Lake Hodges, it offers the perfect blend of nature and community spirit.

Welcome to San Diego Ace Tennis Academy! I’m Stephanie Hoffpauir, Founder, Head Professional, and Academy Director. My passion is helping players of all ages develop their skills, build confidence, and discover a lifelong love for tennis.
Unlike many competitive players who grow up on the court, I discovered tennis at the age of 12 after being adopted by my parents, Alice and Jon Hoffpauir. My father, a tennis professional, introduced me to the game, and from that moment on, it became the foundation for everything that followed.
One of my first glimpses into the world of professional tennis came from watching my father train and travel with four elite Russian tennis players. Seeing their dedication, discipline, and relentless pursuit of excellence inspired me and sparked my own dream of competing at the highest level.
That dream led me to become a Division I collegiate and professional tennis player, earning a Top 4 National Singles Ranking in the USTA Girls’ 18s, a WTA world ranking, and full-ride scholarships to UCLA and the University of San Diego (USD) where I played #1 in both singles and doubles. After more than 24 years in the sport and over 17 years of coaching, I am honored to share my experience and passion with the next generation of players.
As a USPTA Certified Professional, Safe Play Certified Coach, and graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, I believe tennis is about much more than strokes and competition. The lessons learned on the court—confidence, discipline, resilience, and perseverance—help shape successful individuals for life.
Beyond tennis, I proudly serve as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in foster care. Advocating for children who need support and encouragement has strengthened my belief that every young person deserves opportunity, guidance, and someone who believes in their potential.
At San Diego Ace Tennis Academy, our mission is to develop more than great tennis players- we strive to develop confident, resilient individuals through expert coaching, mentorship, and a positive tennis community.
