The Intermediate/Advanced Red Ball Level, referred to as the “Tiny Tots” program, is tailored for children aged 6 to 8 who have successfully grasped the beginner fundamentals and are eager to take on new challenges. This phase enhances the skills acquired in the beginner classes, introducing more intricate techniques and strategies within a supportive and engaging atmosphere.

Key Features

  1. Advanced Equipment Use
    Children continue using red balls, which help them transition smoothly as they develop stronger strokes and better control. The recommended racket size is still 23″, suitable for this age group.
  2. Enhanced Court Play
    Classes remain on scaled-down courts, allowing children to refi ne their skills in a manageable space. The familiarity of the 36′ x 18′ court size supports their growth in confidence and technique.
  3. Skill Refinement
    Coaches introduce more advanced techniques, such as spin and shot placement. Children learn to apply these skills through structured drills and match play, promoting strategic thinking.
  4. Game Strategy
    Instruction focuses on basic match strategies, including positioning and shot selection, helping young players understand the tactical aspects of tennis, tennis scoring and staying consistent to build longer points.
  5. Physical Conditioning
    Sessions incorporate exercises to improve fitness levels, including speed, agility, and endurance, fostering a well-rounded athletic foundation.
  6. Competitive Play
    Children participate in friendly matches and mini-tournaments within the class, allowing them to apply their skills in a competitive yet supportive setting.
  7. Skill Assessment and Feedback
    Regular assessments provide personalized feedback, highlighting areas of strength and opportunities for improvement, ensuring each child’s progress is monitored and celebrated.
